Sometimes You Have To Find Your Roar!
Sometimes you have to find your roar,
When you are feeling meek,
You need to reach inside and find your voice,
When you need to speak...
*
There are times when we all need to muster up the courage to be heard. As a writer I am more inclined to speak through my words as I sit in silence. I know I am braver wielding a pen, or with my fingers furiously working the letters of a digital keyboard, I speak rapidly in these ways as I form my thoughts and opinions in either celebration, or in working out experiences, as I navigate through life. The act of writing is how I prefer to speak, and coming to mind is one of my favourite quotes...
"Writing is the way I walk through the world..."
Today I am sharing a poem I wrote when I was wanting to find my outer voice to speak up, As an affirmation, I use this poem when I am fearful or afraid to speak up or say something, I hope you enjoy it, and the poem inspires you to find your voice in times of need...
(Of course, it goes without saying that I am referring to speak up verbally to be heard, or to be understood, or to share your thoughts or opinions, but certainly to be heard without dealing out pain and suffering to another...)
Cheers! Lise
Sometimes You Have To Find Your Roar
Sometimes you have to find your roar,
When you are feeling meek,
You need to reach inside and find your voice,
When you need to speak.
Sometimes it’s easier to just blend in,
To be quiet and let others talk,
But then your opinion and your struggles,
May as well be under a rock.
You must find the courage,
Find your brave and speak your piece,
If you don’t you cannot be heard,
And you will never feel at peace.
Your fears may be very real,
And hold you in their grasp,
But if you cannot find your voice,
Freedom may never come to pass.
You need to find your inner lion,
And find a way for you to roar,
Or else you may have to run and retreat,
Hide and cower behind closed doors.
You can’t get heard if you don’t speak up,
And what you fear will never go away,
So, stop cowering there so meek and mild,
And speak out with a roar today.
