No One Must Know

No one must know,

So no one can tell,

That I swim in the sea,

With a mighty fine tail.

*

I love to write for my mermaid friends at heart. Don't we all want to believe in a little magic?

No One Must Know

No one must know,

So no one can tell,

That I swim in the sea,

With a mighty fine tail.

No one can see me,

I must be smart and just hide,

It's the only way to keep the secret,

And be able to survive.

Many have heard of me,

Through tales and folklore,

Stories from boaters and sailors,

Across many seas and their shores.

And there are many who search,

And many on the lookout,

To find me and capture me,

So I have to hide out.

So I am careful in the sea,

Dolphins in pods are my friends,

I blend in where I can,

For on my life it depends.

I cannot get caught,

For they would take me away,

And analyze me and do tests,

I would just wither away.

I could not survive,

Away from my beloved seas,

Away from my blissful freedoms,

If anyone caught me.

And so, no must know,

So now one can tell,

That I'm a mermaid in the sea,

And this is my true tale.
