The Rolodex of Life

The Rolodex is spinning,

And it feels out of control,

Flipping around so quickly,

On a mission to whirl and go.

Minutes, days, weeks and years,

Are spinning through so fast,

But this is the nature of the beast,

Destinies and time are cast.

Now if you don’t understand,

What a Rolodex even is,

Then you’re too young to understand,

This is a poem you can put down and miss.

But for you, my aging peers,

You will understand what it is I mean,

This rapid flipping of time going by,

Like days when a Rolodex was seen.

Time seems to be on a mission,

Whirling faster and faster on the go,

Why does this happen as we age,

We certainly aren’t ready to go!

.

Why are things in fast-forward?

Days spinning around so fast?

Not lazily ticking minute by minute,

Giving us time to make each moment last.

I want the world to slow down,

I still have a lot of living to do,

These whirling days are a pain in the tush,

But what’s an aging gal to do?
