It’s Sunny But Snowing

It’s sunny but snowing,

Is the weather all mixed up?

Because for the snow I can tell you,

I’ve had quite enough.

I long for warmer days,

With the sun shiny and bright,

I’m so done with the cold,

And the winds howling all night.

On a day here and there,

I notice things starting to look up,

The sunshine starts to warm things,

And I feel Spring on the cusp.

But then I see this,

More snowflakes falling from the sky,

And teasing me with a little sunshine,

And I just ask out loud, “why?”

Please come to us warm Spring,

Get rid of all the snow,

I am so tired of the cold,

And the freezing winds that blow!

I long for the songbirds,

I long for things to bud and bloom,

I long for warm days outside,

I’m tired of remaining inside my rooms.

I want to see in my gardens,

Plentiful bright butterflies and bees,

Flitting from blooming flower to flower,

Bring those sights to me please.

I’m so tired of Winter’s chill,

And I long for the warmth of Spring,

So enough of this cold already, Mother Nature,

It’s warmth, I pray you now bring.
