I'm Just A Girl Who Likes To Write
I'm just a girl who likes to write,
Pen to paper or fingers to device,
Writing this and that means the world to me,
It is my bliss and my spice of life.
I need not become a scholar,
I do not require several degrees,
I just listen to the words in my head,
To form my poems and my many stories.
I need not to be an expert in grammar,
Or to be able to conjugate every verb,
I just form my thoughts and emotions,
Into sentences through a plethora of words.
Everyone is an expert out there,
And they throw at me lots of advice,
But I pen my pieces as they come to me,
Though I always edit more than twice or thrice.
The joy I receive as I write,
Is so much more than I can explain,
It's a passion that I crave daily and often,
Like the force of a fast-moving train.
I compose when I'm in the shower,
I pen when I'm trying to eat a meal,
Words come to me at the most inconvenient times,
But I welcome them all in with zeal.
Each word has something to give me,
Each sentence has part of a story to tell,
Each stanza has a rhyming thought with meaning,
When I write I am truly under a spell.
So go ahead and judge me,
Search for a typo if you are so inclined,
For I will continue to write in my passion,
Whether or not you decide to be kind.
For when I am writing I am in my bliss,
I write because I have something to say,
Because writing helps me navigate my world,
Though both the good times and the bad in each day.
I do not need your permission to write,
Keep your negative thoughts to yourself,
For I will keep writing no matter what,
Because in essence I do it for myself.
